Icelandic Sheepdog International Cooperation (ISIC) www.icelanddog.org ISIC - The only organization founded specifically for
the preservation of the Icelandic Sheepdog by the Icelandic Government and the Icelandic Kennel Club (HRFI). Home of Icelandic
Sheepdog International Cooperation (ISIC) Established by the Icelandic Kennel Club specifically for the preservation of the
Icelandic Sheepdog worldwide. Sadly, there are those who are actively working against the mission of ISIC and breeding
very young dogs, selling dogs without health testing and without registering dogs in the AKC, FCI or CKC so that those dogs
are lost to our gene pool. There are only three legitimate registries/studbooks for the Icelandic Sheepdog. We
do not support nor recommend breeders who disrespect the tradition of the Iceland Dog; Iceland's only native dog and
wish to change the breed by purposefully breeding outside of the standard or use dogs with questionable pedigrees. Dogs
not registered with the FCI, CKC or AKC are not recognized by the ISIC, FCI or AKC as purebred Icelandic Sheepdogs as pedigrees
cannot be confirmed using a secure database. If you import an ISD, be sure the dog has a certified FCI or CKC pedigree. If
you purchase a dog in the USA, please insure s/he has an AKC pedigree and is purchased from an approved ISAA Breeder. ISAA
is the AKC parent club for the ISD in the USA and ISIC recognized club for the Iceland Dog in the USA.

Nylendu Icelandic Sheepdogs is the home of Maggy Pease and her three Icelandic Sheepdogs, Spurdann, Birta and Nella.
Maggy is an outstanding hobby photographer and her site is packed with information about Iceland and the Icelandic Sheepdog.
Maggy is an ISIC breeder and an approved ISAA Breeder. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the ISAA and the chairwoman

Thorsteinson supports the mission of the ISIC and breeds to ISIC standards. Thorsteinn is a wonderful man and a friend who
we have tremendous respect for as he has contributed so much to the preservation of the Iceland Dog. He is a member of the

Denmark:
Kennel Westmanna is owned by our dear friend and mentor Else Westermann. Else supports ISIC and has worked within
the ISIC breeding committee for years. Else began breeding within the FCI/IF in 1989 under the Danish Kennel Club (DKK). Else
came to the Danish Icelandic Sheepdog Club - Islandsk Fårehundeklub (IF) when it was founded in 1996 and the IF breeding comittee in 2006. She
became the president of the breeding committee after few months and later became the "mentalbeskriver"
or temperament tester in 2000. At present, she defines or describes the working abilities of the ISD for IF
as well. She is very knowledgeable about the rare lines within the breed and we had the great pleasure to study under her
when she visited the USA in 2009. She is a wealth of knowledge and deeply respected in the community of breeders of the Icelandic
Sheepdog. We enjoyed two stays at her guest house and had a delightful time with her, her beautiful dogs and husband,

USA:
Blackhavens Farm - Shellie Greyhavens is an ISIC breeder and an approved ISAA Breeder. She is a member of the
ISAA Board of Directors and a member of the Breeding Review and Compliance Committee (BRCC) in the USA. Having visited her
farm, we have seen how a working farm flows and how beautiful that life is. It is one of the reasons that we bought a farm.
Shellie makes most of her food from scratch, uses goats milk, makes cheese, spins wool from her Icelandic Sheep, makes her
daily breed and let me tell you, it was so fun staying there and watching her in action. She is the real deal farmer. She
also breeds Great Pyrenees and her stud dog, Simon's, head is the size of a n entire ISD! Not
really, but he is s spectacular. Her ISDs enjoy a wonderful life and her dogs are busy working dogs on a very cool farm.

Denmark -
Kennel Fálkastjörnu is owned
by Dorthe Friis Reitzel. Dorthe supports ISIC and breeds to ISIC standards. She is a member of
the IF (Islandsk Fårehundeklub) breeding committee and translated the International ISIC breeding recommendations
to Danish for that club. She is also a member of the FCI Danish Kennel Club (DKK) and in 2006, completed the
DKK Breeders' Education Program. As Dorthe says, the Icelandic Sheepdog "mean[s] the world to [her]!" and
this is evident upon visiting her at her home in beautiful Thisted. We were greeted by a pack of waggling bodies and kisses
and some of the most delicious beverages I've ever tasted made at Dorthe's brewery. We went for a long hike at the
beach with Else, Kurt and all the dogs and had a beautiful experience watching them running and playing. What a joyful
bunch. Dorthe recently translated her website into English, so it is a pleasure to read and learn about her dogs. Visit Dorthe

Denmark - SUMMADÁIN Kennel: Jørgen Metzdorff,
owner of this kennel is a wonderful man who lives in Denmark with his two stud dogs Eili and Naskur. Both dogs are
amazing examples of the breed and simply stunning. Jørgen is a member of the FCI club DKK and is the editor of the
ISD club magazine for IF. He is an avid supporter of ISIC and his website is really something to see. We visited his home
while in Denmark last year on our journey to meet as many Icelandic Sheepdogs and the people they live with as possible around
the world. Jørgen and his partner, Elspa, put out a beautiful spread for us in the Danish tradition and while
I still don't know some of what I ate, the beets his mother had canned were, by far, the best I've every had. We were
able to secret away the receipe, thank goodness, so hope to can some of our own at some point. Jørgen has a very generous
heart and our visit to his home to meet his beautiful family, both two and four legged was one of the highlights of our trip.

Sweden - Gimgölets Kennel is owned by Ami Rooth.
She is an ISIC Breeder and we met her in Denmark in 2008. She is a wonderful person and cares deeply about the breed and its
preservation. In February 1990 the first Icelandic Sheepdog came to her kennel at Ekeholm. Her name was Gydjans I. Glóa,
but they called her “Ruffa”. This was before she knew that the dogs usually keep their Icelandic name. She is
the only one of her dogs that got an “ordinary Swedish dog name”. Ruffa was the "foundation" bitch in
Gimgölets kennel. Ami’s breeding program started in 1992 and since that time she has had 19 litters and a total
of 97 puppies. All the pups are registered with the FCI and the Swedish Icelandic Sheepdog Club [Svenska Isländsk Fårhund
Klubben]. The foundation stud for Gimgölets was Ýrar-Garpur. Garpur was very successful in exhibitions and
won many awards. He also received a very good mentality assessment and a diploma in obedience, Lp1, not to mention he was
a spectacularly handsome fellow. Garpur and Glóa were the only Icelandic sheepdogs Ami purchased. We are proud to know
Ami and are grateful for all the good work she is doing on behalf of the dog in Sweden. To learn more about Ami and her dogs,

Switzerland
- Gantroppas Icelandic Sheepdogs is owned by Pia Stämpfli. Pia was 10
years old when she got her first dog, a Flat Coated Retriever. Amica was the perfect dog, always with Pia and the best
friend for their four children. About two years later, they rescued another dog that was a hunter and when her Amica
died, they got another Flat Coated Retriever from the same blood lines. She did not like to work, so they got a Border
Collie from a breeder that later introduced them to the Icelandic Sheepdog. The year was 2002 and when Pia saw Runa, she "fell
in love". That is how the story began. Pia supports the ISIC and is an FCI breeder. She is a member of the newly
founded FCI ISD Club in Switzerland. Of interest is that "In 1975 the first Icelandic Sheepdog came to Switzerland. Arnoi,
born 03.08.1975, was the father of the first Icelandic Sheepdog litter, ... born in 1985 in the kennel "Laresch"
in Brienz. An excerpt from her website says it all: "Icelandic Sheepdogs are cheerful and sociable dogs. They welcome
every change. They attentivly observe what's going on around the house and in their families. Their robust health and
their strong character ar further merits which characterize this Nordic watch and herding dog. In our breeding,
we try to keep these merits. In order to enlarge the rather small breeding basis we are looking for specific mating males
for our bitches. We breed according to the rules of SKNH (Swiss Club for Nordic Dogs) and we follow the strict criteria of
